2019: Year in Review
I am a big believer that time flies when you love what you do, and with that said - 2019 has truly flown by!
I'm truly fortunate that my year has been filled with award-winning buildings, energizing spaces, innovative projects, and lots of great collaborations. It's always so gratifying to see long term relationships like ZGF Architects, HKS Architects, and DLR Group grow deeper, and celebrate the work of partnerships like EGG Office, AC Martin, Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney Architects, and CallisonRTKL. I'm truly thrilled to be part of their process and honor what they have created with photography that captures their designs as shared spaces.
To that end, here's a quick year in review: Enjoy!
CAL STATE FULLERTON POLLACK LIBRARY: Versatility was the name of the game, with spaces and furniture designed for rearranging - meetings, rehearsals, or private work spaces were all possible here.
JA JIOZI DUMPLINGS: A major dumpling fan myself, I was thrilled to learn that this was the first location in the United States of this successful Beijing-based dumpling house.
KAISER MEDICAL CENTER AT MURIETTA: With two kids that are Kaiser babies (and myself a Kaiser baby!) I felt very connected to the interior and exterior merge of colors, artwork, landscapes, and plenty of natural light.
NANKANG TOWERS: The second phase of a project I first photographed in 2012, these towers were a gorgeous excuse to take Lawrence Anderson Photography to Taipai, Taiwan.
KECK CENTER AT CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY: A full circle moment for me, I found myself photographing this beautiful new building across the street from the site of one of my very first photo assisting jobs.
CENTRAL AND WOLFE & MOFFETT PLACE TECH CAMPUSES: Confidential in name but noteworthy in address, these two Silicon Valley campuses were excellent examples of balanced form and function.
USC NORRIS HEALTHCARE CENTER: With a renewed focus on patient experience and cutting edge treatments, the USC Norris Heathcare Center is working hard to make cancer a disease of the past.
CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY AT LONG BEACH: This campus' student body seemed to funnel through the new College of Continuing and Professional Education with endless vibrancy and energy.
Here's to the next decade
With January around the corner, I can't help but look ahead to the future of architecture, shared spaces, and how Lawrence Anderson Photography fits into those worlds. Lawrence Anderson Photography has expanded our services to include architectural filmmaking - let's talk about how to showcase your work in film!
Wishing you and yours the very best this holiday season, and cheers to 2020!
